PITTSBURGH BREWING COMPANY ANNOUNCES LICENSING AGREEMENT WITH KEY WEST'S OWN HOG'S BREATH LAGER
PITTSBURGH, PA (November 20,1998) - In an effort to expand the brewery's brand portfolio and strengthen its distribution network which now encompasses distribution in over 34 states, Pittsburgh Brewing Company is pleased to announce the licensing agreement with Florida beer brand, Hog's Breath Lager. The brewery acquired the Hog's Breath brand from the infamous Hog's Breath Saloon in Key West, Florida in early November. The agreement not only includes the continued production and bottling of the brand but also the marketing and promotion of Hog's Breath, a trademark already known across the country to true "Hog Heads".
Future plans for Hog's Breath Lager include a broader distribution of the product and a product line expansion. Pittsburgh Brewing Company is looking into the possibility of producing a Hog's Breath Light Lager and a Hog's Breath Malt Liquor in 1999. Promotion will continue with Hog's Breath Lager in the Southeast market with the sponsorship of the three time National Champion "Hog's Breath" Offshore Racing Team. Hog's Breath Lager is also a well known supporter of various sporting events such as catamaran racing, surfing and volleyball tournaments, and a sponsor for major music events in Florida. With the backing and marketing know-how of Pittsburgh Brewing Company, Hog's Breath plans to continue to concentrate its marketing efforts on these grass-roots events.
